GARY CHANG / ARCHITECT / HONG KONG

How can politics encourage creativity and innovation?
Governments themselves ought to be innovative in the first place, with a holistic view. They should be able to connect and bring different resources together.

What do you like best about Hong Kong?
The efficiency and convenience brought about by the hyper-density of the place and the hyper-intensity of activities available; and that, in general, people here are so impatient, which is sometimes a good quality.

What should the world know about your work?
Our smart use of resources: be it materials, level of workmanship, budget… and time! On recognising the notions of choice, change, connectivity and co-existence, which we collectively refer to as The New Urban Dynamics.
