PEARL LAM / GALLERY OWNER / HONG KONG

How can politics encourage creativity and innovation?
They can encourage public interest in creative industries – whether it is through increasing educational funds or hosting big events like the Shanghai Biennale or the World Expo.

What do you like best about Hong Kong?
Hong Kong is not a historically cultural city compared to Shanghai or Beijing, but in recent years it has been making an effort to promote art with the Hong Kong International Art Fair and a new museum.

What should the world know about your work?
Creativity is about pushing boundaries – often by trial and error. Success is when I am able to share a different point of view (cultural, aesthetic, etc.). Creativity reflects contemporary culture and is a universal form of communication that transcends borders.
