How can politics encourage creativity and innovation?
While government schemes and grants can help artists realise projects that are out of their reach, innovation comes from within and no amount of care or nurture can create a spark if it is not already there. The best work is made when one can no longer stand the status quo; that yearning to shake things up is where innovation comes from.

What do you like best about London?
London has always been a place that supports and appreciates new talent. Although the perpetual quest for something new that this city engenders can, at times, become tiring, it is also its driving force. The constant forward thrust makes competition fierce and it is this ruthlessness that invigorates my work.

What should the world know about your work?
While I work with specific frameworks and ideas in mind for each season, I don’t want people to think that they are bound by a prescriptive approach. To me each season, and in turn each piece, speaks for itself. The ideas and conclusions people jump to when seeing the clothes is more interesting than any dictate I could put out.
