MICHAEL THOMSON / DESIGN STRATEGIST / LONDON

How can politics encourage creativity and innovation?
Governments need to connect innovation more visibly to design – particularly in areas of non-technological innovation. Design incorporated intelligently into existing policies and not treated as a “stand-alone case” is usually the best way forward.

What do you like best about London?
London is a vibrant urban metropolis that is a magnet for creative talent and a springboard for new ideas. It is gritty, mad, wonderful, challenging, world-class and wholly contradictory. Great for creativity.

What should the world know about your work?
I believe in the power of an integrative, design and people-centred approach to visionary thinking, strategic planning and operational implementation as an enlightening and transformational process for individuals and organisations alike.
